If you decide to holiday at our apartment in Armacao de Pera, there is plenty to do in the town and the surrounding area. The attractions and activities on offer appeal to all ages and this makes it an ideal holiday destination for both young and old. It should be noted that some of the main tourist attractions do close for the winter months.
Local Highlights
Foia - The Algarve’s highest point with great views of the Algarve (902 meters)
Monchique - A tradtional village in the mountains
Silves - An old moorish castle and 13th century church
Alte - A traditional village that hosts folklore evenings
Tavira - An old Roman town with Roman bridge and castle

Cape St. Vincent - Europe’s most south-westerly point
Shopping
The shops are usually open from 9.00am to 1.00pm and from 3.00pm to 10.00pm, closing for a couple of hours for lunch.
In Armacao there are the typical shops you would expect to find in a small holiday resort. Here you can buy all your holiday essentials including gifts and souvenirs. Pottery, leather goods, jewellery and embroidered linens are also very popular. On the 13th of every month the town holds a flea market. On the N125 at Guia, just outside of Armaco is the large Algarve Shopping and Entertainment Complex. This modern shopping centre has an excellent range of well known shops offering late night shopping (including factory outlets), a multiplex cinema, ten pin bowling, a creche and a food court with a large range of cafes and restaurants on the top floor.

Portimao - Holds a market on the first Monday of the month.
Silves - Holds a market on the third Monday of the month.
Loule - Holds a popular gipsy market every Saturday.
Quarteira - Holds a popular gipsy market every Wednesday.
